The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 2305h. last night Saturday December 22, 2012, at Main Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice, and which resulted in the death of motor cyclist Shordell Tim, 21 years, of Martin Luther King Scheme, New Amsterdam.
Investigations revealed that Shordell Tim was allegedly driving a motor cycle at a fast rate when he collided with pedal cyclist Brian Cummings, 29 years, of Amsville Scheme, New Amsterdam, who was proceeding ahead in the same direction. As a result of the collision Shordell Tim lost control of the motor cycle and ended up in the path of a mini bus that was travelling in the opposite direction and was struck down.
Shordell Tim and Brian Cummings were taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where Shordell Tim was pronounced DOA, while Brian Cummings was admitted for medical treatment.
