The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 2305h on Saturday at Main Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice, and which resulted in the death of motor cyclist Shordell Tim, 21 years, of Martin Luther King Scheme, New Amsterdam.
Police say that investigations revealed that Tim was allegedly riding a motor cycle at a fast rate when he collided with pedal cyclist Brian Cummings, 29 years, of Amsville Scheme, New Amsterdam, who was proceeding in the same direction. As a result of the collision Tim lost control of the motor cycle and ended up in the path of a mini bus that was travelling in the opposite direction and was struck down.
Tim and Cummings were taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where Tim was pronounced DOA, while Cummings was admitted for medical treatment.
