“I can’t thank the guys enough for the effort it took to get here and for the short period of time we have been involved in the tournament, the guys are doing pretty well,” he added.
Profitt said that the team is training very hard and they are trying to put in as much work as possible.
“Pertaining to the next games we will just take it one step at a time. In terms of preparation we are trying to put in as much as we could by practicing twice a day. There is a lot of confidence and the camp is full of energy right now,” he said.
He admitted that his team is viewed as an underdog but said he knows that his charges are capable of going all the way
“Realistically the talent is there, all that was needed was to bring the guys together and getting the team to gel. We do not possess the household names of some of the other teams but we have the ability. We’re a community team made up of youth and experience who is just playing our normal way. We are not upsetting anybody. We have players who have never been at this level before like our 16-year-old custodian and it’s an honour and a pleasure to know that he could come out and compete at such a high level,” said Profitt.
Profitt said he would like to thanks sponors Banks DIH for giving his club the opportunity to participate in such a tournament.
“At this moment, my team is the team everyone wants to see because people have never heard about us prior to this tournament and I am glad that Banks gave us this opportunity so we could showcase our talent.”
