The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0535h today on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Vincent Barclay, 42 years, of Norton Street, Lodge, Georgetown.
Investigations, police said, revealed that motor car PKK 5970 was allegedly proceeding along Mandela Avenue at a fast rate, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with Barclay who was proceeding in the opposite direction on the other side of the street.
Barclay was taken to the GPHC where he was pronounced DOA.
The driver of the motor car is in custody assisting with the investigations.
