The Government of India has doubled the number of scholarships being offered for undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral studies in universities and institutions in India.
GINA yesterday said that a press release issued by the Indian High Commissioner stated that instead of the usual four scholarships, for the academic year 2013-2014, nine are being offered for studies excluding medicine and dentistry. The expansion for the current academic year is due to the large number of applications that the Commission has been receiving, the release stated.
GINA said that the scholarship will be administered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the Government of India’s Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme. It covers the airfare to India, tuition fees, a stipend, contingency grant, accommodation, and thesis and dissertation expenses.
