Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) worker LeVoy Taljit, whose last call was traced to a location along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway, remains missing.
A search on Wednesday conducted by family members along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway failed to uncoverany trace of him or his vehicle, although family members are still holding on to the hope that he will be found safe and unharmed.
Taljit, 25, was last seen wearing a burgundy-coloured T- Shirt with faded blue jeans. He was driving his Toyota Raum, licensed number PNN 8315, around 10:30 pm on Sunday.
His mother, Silvie Williams, said that some of his friends went to the highway and did another search yesterday but were unable to find any trace of him or a clue to his whereabouts.
Williams said that his last call was picked up in the vicinity of the highway where the search was done. She further stated that police have since tried to trace her son’s calls but informed that the SIM card may be out as it is untraceable at the moment.
Meanwhile, one of his GEA co-workers, who declined to be named, disclosed that Taljit had recently held a position at the Guyana Revenue Authority GRA as an enforcement officer before taking a position as field operation manager at the agency. The source further stated that the job requires him to be available to be stationed with a team to different locations within Guyana at anytime of the day.
