Donna Gomes yesterday drove away with a new Nissan X-Trail, as Courts Guyana Inc wrapped up the biggest Christmas promotion in its history, giving away over $70M in cash and prizes.
Gomes, the seventh woman in the all-female winning line up of the Courts ‘Drive Away Promotion,’ was escorted by five models who posed alongside the winning car. Gomes, as the last winner, had the opportunity to choose between the last vehicle which was a Nissan Note or the Nissan X-Trail.
“I received a called from Courts and I thought to meself if I owe dem. But de girl said I just win a car. I start screaming and thanking de Father because the day before I de fulling up the coupons dem and I pray and seh you knows it, I need a car and He answered me prayers,” Gomes said.
She explained that she has shopped at Courts since the 1990s and has since been a loyal customer, while enjoying the friendly customer service. She said it was the first time she had won anything in her life.
In the celebration yesterday were four of the six other winners who week after week chose from the array of cars during the period of November to December.
Each of the winners was interviewed by the host, former Miss Guyana World Desia Braithwaite, and they spoke about their experiences after they drove away with their cars on the different occasions.
Customers also won cash, trips to Sandals Resort, which with the seven vehicles totalled $72 million.
