The Demerara Tobacco Company (Demtoco) has donated two brush cutters to the Environmental Community Health Organisation (ECHO).
ECHO, in press release, thanked Demtoco for its good corporate support, while saying they will enhance the non-governmental organisation’s capacity to develop the Thomas Street Avenue beautification project initiated last year.
Its objectives include improving the aesthetics of that area to provide a place of relaxation for residents.
The brush cutters will also be used in a wider programme to provide environmental services to local communities and will provide employment for three persons, the release added.
The brush cutters were handed over by Keisha Phaul Baptiste, Area Manager, Demtoco to Michael Vanderstoop, director of ECHO.
