Three men, Eon Griffith, Keifa Small and Sherwood Gray, were yesterday accused of breaking into another’s house and stealing two million dollars.
The trio was refused bail and remanded to prison after arraignment at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It was alleged that on December 31, 2012, Griffith, Small and Gray broke and entered the dwelling house of Osafa Yarde and stole $2M, which was his property.
The jointly-charged men, who were unrepresented by counsel, pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to them by Magistrate Leron Daly.
When asked by the magistrate if she had any objection to bail, Police Prosecutor Venetta Pindar objected to bail on the grounds that there is a likelihood the defendants may not return to court to stand trial. She added too that Griffith and Gray are cousins of Yarde and it is likely that they may tamper with the witnesses in the case.
The defendants were then informed that they would be remanded to prison. They will make their next court appearance on January 14.
