After two weeks the persons whose stalls had been broken in at Bourda Market are angry that the City Constabulary has shown little interest in their dilemma.
Owner of Trinni’s Variety Store said the City Constabulary referred the case to Alberttown Police Station, but officers there said they had not received any report about the matter. He claimed that a few days after Christmas Day he signed a statement.
“I told them that I suspect someone and they tell me that they would look at it. Next thing I see the man walking past me,” he stated.
The owner of RJ Ashim Store said, “On the Thursday, the police came and closed the market down and did a routine search and apologise for my losses. The constables ain’t even do that. After they finished the investigation they told that it got to be somebody from de inside.”
Contacted, acting Town Clerk Carol Sooba said she had just received the report and would not be able to comment on the issue.
Between December 19 and 20, three stall owners arrived at the market and found that their stalls had been broken into.
