Two armed Linden bandits yesterday fled a Wismar home after being confronted by an eighteen-year-old.
Police say that at about 0130h yesterday, two men armed with a shotgun and a cutlass pushed open the door and entered the home of a man at Wismar, Linden. At the time the man was at home with his reputed wife and her eighteen-year-old son and daughter, police said.
The eighteen-year-old son confronted the man with the cutlass and seized it from him, during which he sustained minor injuries. The 18-year-old then confronted the man with the shotgun, while armed with the cutlass, and wrestled the gun from the bandit. During this scuffle a round was let off which struck the roof of the building, police said.
Both bandits beat a hasty retreat and fled, police said.
The firearm, a 12-gauge shotgun, and the cutlass were handed over to the police who are conducting investigations.
