Customers should use post offices which are in the vicinity of their residences

Dear Editor,

The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) wishes to acknowledge the Guyana Chronicle’s January 10, 2013, article which was published under the caption, ‘AFC member raises pensioners complaints at RDC meeting.’ GPOC would like to thank the publication for highlighting the customers’ concerns and wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The management of GPOC is concerned about the large volume of customers who utilize the services at the Anna Regina Post Office and the delay that may occur during the peak hours. Please note that the corporation is making every effort to maintain efficiency at all of its post offices.

Moreover, GPOC wishes to urge customers to utilize the services at post offices that are in proximity to their residence. For example, customers who reside on the northern section of Essequibo can utilize the services at the Danielstown and Charity Post Offices; while customers who reside on the southern section can utilize the services at the Queenstown, Aurora and Suddie Post Offices. This arrangement is likely to significantly contribute to the ease and comfort of all  our customers.
For further enquiries, customers are encouraged to call GPOC’s Customer Services Office on telephone number 226-3127 or email us at pro@guypost.gy.

Yours faithfully,
Telesha Whyte
