Five persons are now mobile, after being presented with wheelchairs from the St. Francis Community Developers (SFCD) in collaboration with Food for the Poor Guyana.
At a simple handing over ceremony at the SFCD headquarters, Rose Hall, representatives of the disabled received the chairs. Hazel La Rose collected on behalf of her sister Dallas La Rose of Rose Hall Town;Donna Ramsammy collected for her father Permaul Ramsammy of Albion; Vanessa Ramessar received for her daughter Gerneta Junior of No 11 Farm, East Berbice; Angela Ceres received for her mother Dhohney Ceres of Angoy’s Avenue and Eva Persaud collected for her son Pooran Persaud of No 54 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Alex Foster, President of SFCD said that he is delighted to be assisting persons who cannot do much for themselves. He added, that he knows that those persons would be better off because when his team visited the families they saw the need for the disabled to have the aid of a wheelchair.
