Dear Editor,
It is always a pity when a good Guyanese dies. John Bart was one such. I well remember the few days I spent on ‘his’ estate – Blairmont – when making a film for GuySuCo over a decade ago. He was warm and hospitable then and every time we have met since. Anybody who makes it from working on the London Underground to returning to serve his country nobly is well deserving of praise – in life and in death.
Yours faithfully,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
