In a notice in yesterday’s Guyana Chronicle, the Guyana Power and Light advised that problems with two units had led to generation problems at Bartica.
GPL said that two of its Caterpillar Units had experienced technical problems and therefore it was unable to satisfy the total power demand of the Region Seven (Cuyuni/Mazaruni) community. This has resulted in daily power cuts. GPL apologized and said it is working to rectify the problems.
