Eid Milad-un-Nabi or Youman Nabi, or the day in observance of the birth of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad over 1400 years ago, is once again being observed worldwide and here by the Anna Catherina Islamic Complex.
In a statement, the ACIC said that he was born into poverty and deprivation when tribalism, political turmoil, moral and social chaos were rampant. In many ways, the situation in the world reflects similar situations as when the Prophet of Islam came into the world. Therefore, the solutions for much of these present problems will lie in looking at the life of this great personality and how he solved the problems in that age.
He changed mankind’s way of thinking towards the recognition of God and his commandments and influenced people’s behaviour and altered their inclinations, the ACIC said. His life was a means in which rulers and subjects alike copied the art of leadership, nation building, family orientation and spiritual elevation.
The Anna Catherina Islamic Complex, Centre of Sunni Islam in Guyana, calls on all Muslims to observe special prayers for the solidarity, prosperity and integrity of the Muslim community. ACIC urges the people to strengthen national unity by emulating the footsteps of the Holy Prophet.
