Close to one million dollars will be up for grabs in the Unique Entertainment/Banks Premium Beer Futsal knockout tournament which starts tomorrow at the Mackenzie Sports Club Hard-court.
The tournaments which will have 32 teams competing for the top prize of $500,000 and a trophy was launched last Friday at the boardroom of flagship sponsors Banks DIH Limited.
The runners-up will receive $300,000 and a trophy and third place $150,000 and a trophy respectively.
Present at the event were Premium Beer Brand Manager Jeoff Clement, Outdoor & Events Manager Mortimer Stewart, Company PRO Troy Peters, Company official Mike Fung, Banks Beer Brand Manager Brian Choo-Hen and organizer Marlon Washington who stated that prizes for MVP and most goals scored will also be offered.
Washington declared that this initiative will be exclusively for teams in Upper Demerara locale, but attempts are being made to accommodate a team from Kwakwani.
The LEAP Building in Mackenzie will be the location for interested teams could go to register the organizer further elaborated.
Meanwhile, Peters on behalf of the Company said how pleased they are to be associated with another sporting venture in the community which indicates the company’s continued commitment to promoting and developing sports in the Region.

The event will run up to the 19th February with the enactment of the finals.
