A man from Enterprise Gardens on the East Coast of Demerara was shot last night by bandits who invaded his premises and made off with jewellery and other valuables.
Rajendra Singh, 33, of Lot 14 K Drive was scheduled for surgery early this morning. He was shot in his abdomen and was bleeding badly before he was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
His father told Stabroek News that Singh was at a neighbour’s yard not far from his home when the neighbour alerted him to some strange movements. Singh’s wife, his baby and his brother were home at the time. As Singh was about to enter his yard, four bandits pounced on him and opened fire, hitting him in the abdomen.
His father who was going home at the time said that he heard shots and when he went to his son’s house he found him lying on the ground bleeding. He was then rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
