Dear Editor,
For some time now we have been reading stories of murder, suicide, serious assault on citizens, break and enter, the stabbing of a city constable at Bourda Market as he attempted to prevent three bandits from breaking into stalls and fatal accidents, not to mention the high level of corrupt activity, and conflict of interest in high places – the list can continue.
Moreover, from my knowledge, many acts of criminality are neither reported to the media nor the police. In the latter instance, it is because there is an apparent loss of confidence in most of our security processes.
Our executive ought to realize that this question of our security is a very serious matter and ought to be kept and dealt with professionally only; it is way above partisan politics and petty personal proclivities. For the sake of victims and potential victims, let us hope that those in control see the light, cooperate and put an end to arrogance.
