Harris Paints and the Ministry of Housing on Monday signed a Memorandum of Under-standing that will enable owners of “low and moderate income” house lots to purchase paint at a 7% discount.
A release from the Ministry of Housing yesterday quoted the head of Harris Paints’ Business Unit in Guyana, Terry White as congratulating Housing Minister Irfaan Ali for the work being done to provide Guyanese an opportunity to construct their homes.
White also announced that the 7% discount offer will be extended to staff of the Central Housing and Planning Authority and to the contractors responsible for works at the Ministry of Housing.
The release reported White as saying that at the end of a year the agreement will be re-examined and reviewed.
Ali is quoted in the release as saying “I am happy once again to be associated with another activity that embraces the Central Housing and Planning Authority’s …focus on development through partnership. We are embracing this approach towards seeking the best prices and housing solutions especially for low income earners”. He expressed gratitude to Harris Paints.
The release said the most recent agreement comes on the heels of other MoUs with Toolsie Persaud Limited and National Hardware Guyana Limited.
