BOSAI’s Mines Main–tenance Senior Planner Haslyn Graham, who served as the organising secretary in the last administration, is the new president of the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA).
Most of the officials of the past two years were returned to serve another two year term when the annual general meeting and biennial elections were held at the Mackenzie Sports Club Tuesday night.
Graham was elected unopposed while also getting a clear vote of confidence were Bryan Lewis who is now the first vice president, Joseph Chapman, who retained the post of secretary and Public Relations Officer Clyde Brusch, who served as a committee member on the previous executive.
Others who were also elected to serve were Abdulla Hamid, second vice president, Dawn McCammon-Barker, treasurer, Robert Byass, assistant treasurer and Analyse Roman, assistant secretary.
Others elected to serve are committee members Joseph Lawrence, Simone Ault and Patrick Clarke.
All seven affiliated Linden clubs attended namely Amelia’s Ward Jets, Kashif and Shanghai Kings, Victory Valley Royals, Half Mile Bulls, Retrieve Raiders, Wismar Pistons and Block 22 Flames.
Graham said under his stewardship LABA will concentrate on the development of youth basketball and the training of referees and table officials.
Outgoing treasurer Eusi Francis presented a financial report which stated that LABA has in its coffers over $500,000 compared to the just over $50,000 when they took office.
