DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, CMC – Veteran left-hander Shiv Chanderpaul has remained unmoved at number three in the latest International Cricket Council Test player rankings released today.
The 38-year-old, who has not been in Test action since last November, lies behind Australian Michael Clarke who has been dislodged from the top spot by South African top order batsman Hashim Amla.
Chanderpaul has 879 ratings points, eight adrift of Clarke, with Amla at the top of the pile with 895 points.
With his latest elevation, Amla became the first player in six years to head both the Test and One-Day International rankings.
Chanderpaul is the only West Indies batsman in the top ten, as Marlon Samuels and Darren Bravo remain unmoved in 17th and 18th respectively.
Meanwhile, West Indies speedster Kemar Roach has jumped one spot in the bowlers’ rankings to 11th, with South African fast bowler Dale Steyn continuing at the top.
