In a report carried in Stabroek News on Tuesday, February 6, 2013, captioned ‘Gov’t willing to assist in probe of gold smuggling to Curacao, Persaud says – women miners complain of being shut out’ the impression was inadvertently conveyed that the Guyana Women Miners Organization was in possession of specific information about the smuggling of gold. In fact nothing President of the organization, Ms Simona Broomes said during her interview for the report lent itself to that interpretation.
