Dear Editor,
Although Saxacalli is in Region 3, because it is only ten miles north of Bartica, residents of Saxacalli have always looked to Region 7 for certain amenities. Therefore like many before me, when I reached age sixty-five I applied at the Bartica Welfare Office for my old age pension. After that I received my pension book from the Bartica office until 2009, when suddenly someone from the Region 3 office brought my book and assured me that my pension book would be issued from the Region 3 office. In 2010, I received my book as was promised. In 2011, I received my book here from the Region 3 office. Last year, however, the Region 3 office did not bring my book and only after a lot of running about did I receive a book from the Bartica office. I have learnt that another pensioner (Mrs Gertrude Ault), like myself, has not to date received her book. Mrs Ault’s sister who lives in the same house with her is receiving her book from the Bartica office. This is baffling indeed.
I would like to receive my book from the Bartica office as I have been doing all these years. I never had a hassle until now.
I want my pension, I need my pension. Will someone please give me my pension.
Yours faithfully,
E C Lobert
