President of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) K. Juman-Yassin has expressed his disappointment with the present situation of the Athletics Association of Guyana.
Juman-yassin was referring to an injunction filed by former president of the AAG Colin Boyce seeking to annul the recent results of the AAG’s annual general meeting where he was defeated for the AAG’s top post by Aubrey Hutson. Boyce lost by three votes to six.
In an invited comment the head of the local Olympic association and former Chief Magistrate Juman-Yassin, said that he was very disappointed after reading that there was a civil proceedings in relation to the results of the last AGM adding that he hopes that the matter can be resolved quickly.
The GOA President indicated to Stabroek Sport that he has spoken to Hutson and Boyce on the matter.
“I have spoken to Mr. Hutson and this morning (yesterday) to Mr. Boyce indicating to them that this matter needed to be resolved.” “He (Mr. Boyce) informed me that the matter will be resolved and that he is planning a meeting with Mr. Hutson and other members.” Juman-Yassin added that he offered both parties that his services and that of the GOA will be at their disposal if needed.
