Dear Editor,
A few weeks ago you carried a report of a meeting with the Guyana Consumers Association and auto dealers. I believe that the objective of that forum was to sensitize them to the local act.
My concern is with a few areas which were not mentioned relating specifically to the SH vehicles.
I would like to ask the following questions:
1. Does the act have retroactivity with regard to the warranty requirement of six months, since most auto dealers would have given their purchasers only three months?
2. What is the position with regard to the quality of the tyres? Is there a standard? And does the fitness certificate for the vehicle include tyres?
3. What about the mileage? Is there a maximum mileage which is acceptable?
4. And lastly user manuals: Could these be all issued in English?
Yours faithfully,
