Neil Miggins, the 13-year-old Patentia Secondary School student who had a pair of scissors stuck in his head by another student, has been released from hospital after recovering from surgery.
According to the boy’s mother, Barbara Miggins, Neil was discharged at 3 pm yesterday after a period of close monitoring by doctors.
The woman told Stabroek News that she was advised against sending him back to the school.
“Well, I was advised by the doctor not to send him back to Patientia Secondary; either private or home school,” she said.
Her son, a first form student, was rushed to a hospital after a 17-year-old fifth form student threw the scissors at him and it stuck in his head. Miggins had brushed the older student while passing him.
