(Barbados Nation) A dramatic turn of events could lead to a three-man race for the election of the president of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
Investigations by WEEKENDSPORT yesterday revealed that Julian Hunte, who had informed some directors a few weeks ago he would not be seeking the position for a fourth successive term, has had a change of heart and has thrown his hat back into the ring.
Jamaican Dave Cameron, who has served as Hunte’s vice-president since 2007, indicated his availability to contest the top position once he was approached by shareholders following Hunte’s earlier disclosure.
And former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd, who resigned his post as WICB director last year before heading the Interim Management Committee (IMC) in Guyana, has also expressed an interest in seeking a nomination for the presidency at the WICB’s annual general meeting in April.
