Three men and a minor, who allegedly broke and entered the dwelling house and business place of another and stole over $3 million in items were yesterday released on $175,000 bail each, when they appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The allegations against Keshawn Joseph, 21; Rawle Hinds, 26; Clevroy Johnson, 18, and the minor is that between February 11 and 12, at Wisroc, Linden, they broke and entered the dwelling house of Mark Cottom and stole items totalling $1,600,000.
It is also alleged that between February 11 and 12, at Wisroc, Linden, they stole other items totalling $2,450,000 property of Mark Cottom.
The men denied both charges when they were read to them by Magistrate Sueanna Lovell.
Attorney-at-law Dexter Todd who represented the defendants said that his clients discovered the articles in an abandoned house.
Counsel further stated the defendants are well known in their area and have fixed places of abode.
He added that his clients fully cooperated with the police officers pertaining to the matters and some of the articles were recovered.
After listening to submissions, the presiding magistrate granted the defendants pre-trial liberty in the sum of $75,000 for the break and entering charge and $100,000 for the simple larceny charge.
The matter will continue on February 27.
