Tiffany Castello yesterday became the newest attorney to be admitted to the local bar. Presenting a petition on her behalf to Justice Sandra Kertzious, attorney Carole James-Boston said Castello, a graduate of the Norman Manley Law School was admitted to the Bar in Jamaican on December 5, 2012. The second of three children for her parents who are both deceased, Castello, after two years of studies at Queen’s College gained entry into the Bachelor’s of Laws Degree programme at the University of Guyana. After graduating in 2006, she worked briefly at the Guyana Revenue Authority and in 2008 migrated to St Kitts and Nevis where she worked as a paralegal in the chambers of Caribbean Associated Attorneys. In 2010 she began studies at the Norman Manley Law School and obtained her Certificate of Legal Education in September 2012. According to James-Boston the 27-year-old attorney has a keen interest in community service and even cofounded the Women in Action Organisation, a voluntary mentorship programme in Jamaica. In 2012, she said, Castello received the community service award from the Norman Manley Law School. Also in attendance at the simple ceremony were Castello’s siblings.
