A man accused of attempting to steal an electric crosscut saw was yesterday admitted to bail in the sum of $80,000 after denying the charge.
The allegation against John Hercules is that on February 16, at Brickdam, Georgetown, he attempted to commit the felony of simple larceny, in that he attempted to steal an electric crosscut saw, valued at $50,000 and property of Ramnauth Rahagoo.
Hercules pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
No details about the attempted theft were related to the court.
Police Prosecutor Evelyn Sampson did not object to the accused being granted bail and the case was subsequently adjourned until March 8.
