Lyndon Phillips was yesterday accused of stealing a quantity of copper wire when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
But Phillips, 40, denied the allegation that on February 1, at the National Park, at Thomas Lands, he stole the wire, which was valued at $10,020 and the property of Cummings Electrical.
Phillips told the court that he just picked up the wire and did not steal it. A not guilty plea was entered for him by Magistrate Leron Daly.
The prosecution had no objection to the accused being granted bail, which was fixed at $20,000.
The case was adjourned until March 14.
