Bus driver Rampersaud Seepersaud, also known as ‘Marlon,’ was on Wednesday released on $350,000 bail after he denied causing the death of security guard Mahadaiw Hemraj by dangerous driving.
It is alleged that on February 17, on the Little Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara, Seepersaud, 47, drove his minibus, BKK 7175, in a dangerous manner and caused the death of Hemraj.
Hemraj, 50, was returning home when he was struck down by a minibus, which threw him about 20 feet from the point of impact.
The prosecution had no objections to bail and Magistrate Leslie Sobers, who presided over the matter, granted Seepersaud pre-trial liberty.
He will make his next court appearance on April 15.
