Dear Editor,
It is now past 5 am on Saturday, February 23. The loud “music” interspersed with inanities shouted by some DJ has now continued unabated for twelve hours. Could the Minister of Home Affairs perhaps be invited to comment on whether or not police permission was granted for this event at the PNC Headquarters on Eastern Highway, and if so why. If police permission was not given, could he explain why no action was taken by the Prashad Nagar Police Outpost, even though officers there must have been aware of the noise nuisance.
Could he also let the sleep-deprived residents in the neighbourhood know whether or not they can expect to endure the same unwanted entertainment in September when government hosts GuyExpo at the Sophia Exhibition Site?
