Congratulations and best wishes to Chutney King Roger Hinds (Young Bill Rogers) who has been placed second in the Calypso competition, and who performed well at the Chutney/Soca Finals in Trinidad.
The 2012 Calypso Monarch and reigning Chutney King was also a finalist in the 1999 Chutney competition held at the Starlite Drive-In which coincided with the Independence anniversary, and in which I was the coordinator while three competent judges presided.
Roger Hinds also competed in the 2004 National Chutney Competition held at the National Park, in which I was one of the presiding judges.
He is the only singer in Guyana to have won both titles − calypso and chutney.
