An employee of Popeyes Chicken and Seafood and another person accused of stealing from the fast food restaurant were yesterday granted $200,000 bail when they appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The allegation against Shawn Reid and Makalya Marcelle, is that on February 22, at Georgetown, they stole $332,000, the property of Popeyes Chicken and Seafood.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
No facts of what occurred on the day in question were related in court.
Magistrate Judy Latchman issued a summons advising a representative of Popeyes Chicken and Seafood to attend court.
The prosecution did not object to the defendants being granted bail.
After listening to submissions, the duo was ordered to return to court on March 6.
