Several departments of the Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security (MLHSSS) at Water and Cornhill Streets, will be relocated to the unoccupied Lamaha Street building, which formerly housed the Guyana Revenue Authority’s (GRA’s) Secretariat, a release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) said yesterday.
Last year, the GRA commenced its consolidation of its Georgetown offices by relocating to the former CLICO building on Camp Street, in an effort to centralise its operations.
A GRA-appointed task force has been overseeing the relocation process to ensure full functionality of the various operations. Recently, they addressed provision of adequate parking near to the new location.
Last year Commissioner General of the GRA, Khurshid Sattaur had said that the buildings that would be rendered vacant by the move to the Camp Street location would be freed up for use by the government.
