A woman allegedly held with cocaine during a police raid was yesterday remanded to prison.
The allegation against Audrey Brian, 44, is that on February 26, at Alexander Street, Georgetown, she had in her possession 13 grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Brian pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to her by Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Police Prosecutor Denise Booker told the court that on the day in question, at around 3pm, the police were on a raid in the Bourda Market area when they entered a yard at Alexander Street.
There, Booker said, the officers searched Brian and a white substance was found in her pocket, resulting in her arrest.
Brian was refused bail and remanded to prison until March 14, when the case is to be heard again.
