(Trinidad Express) There is confusion as to whether or not Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan will be coming to Trinidad for a $2,500-a-ticket concert at the Hilton Trinidad on April 13.
Local company Elite Entertainment Ltd has advertised a mega Bollywood concert “Mohabbat 2013” featuring Khan, actresses Bipasha Basu, Rani Mukherji and hit singers Udit Narayan and Asha Bhosle accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra from India.
Elite Entertainment’s head of public relations and marketing, Crystal Mulchan, told the Express yesterday a contract was made with Khan and fees were wired to him through a local agency. He assured that the concert will be held on April 13, at the Hilton Trinidad.
However, Khan’s publicist Mandvi Sharma, who is attached to Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, an entertainment company owned by Khan and his wife Gauri Khan, in Mumbai, India, says the superstar has no contract to come to Trinidad.
“This is with regards to your e-mail to the Cineyug events team today. Mr Shahrukh Khan is not performing in Trinidad on April 13. It is false news,” stated Sharma in an e-mail response to the Express.
The Express on Thursday e-mailed Cineyug—a company which manages Khan’s concerts.
Two responses were received, one from Sharma and another from Meetali Majethia of Cineyug who stated, “There is nothing confirmed with Mr Khan. This news is false.”
The concert was advertised to include dinner and unlimited access to the alcoholic and dessert bar as well as an all-night beverage station offering a variety of international coffees and tea.
According to the advertisement, tickets for the show are being sold at See Vu Optical, in San Fernando.
