Pedestrian crossings in Rose Hall town were recently repainted by the staff from the Rose Hall Town Republic Bank Branch.
Branch Manager Leon McDonald said the bank’s annual calendar of activities includes such exercises. He added that it has been three years since the bank undertook such activity, coinciding with Guyana’s Republic Anniversary.
Noting that the objective is to promote road safety and encourage correct road usage by drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, McDonald stressed the importance of pedestrian crossings being kept bright. He noted that Rose Hall town has recently become “extremely busy” during the day. “Road users at times also tend to forget where the crossings are,” he added.
He concluded that the project was a joint effort between the Guyana Police Force and the bank.
