Guyana has declared tomorrow, March 8, a Day for Mourning for the late
Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, the Government Information Agency announced tonight.
The Golden Arrowhead will be flown at half-mast at all public buildings.
President Donald Ramotar today departed Guyana for Venezuela in the Guyana Defence Force’s Y-12 aircraft for the state funeral tomorrow, GINA said.
Chavez will be embalmed and put on display “for eternity” at a military museum after the state funeral and an extended period of lying in state, acting President Nicolas Maduro said today.
