Dear Editor,
My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and supporters of Hugo Chávez.
For completely free education (all through university); for the special land reformation programme to assist small farmers and the poor without land; for the marine conservation programme and respecting the rights of indigenous peoples; for the special banks targeting small businesses and workers’ cooperatives; for the very formation of those cooperative markets; for understanding the long-term impact of foreign capital penetration (something that is seemingly beyond the capacity of any other regional policy-maker, Guyana included, at this time); for kicking out US ‘advisors’ and their GM food plans; for reminding the continent of the Bolivarian dream; for having the courage to manage with the perspective that all the resources of the planet belong to all the peoples of the planet − well done compañero.
La revolución intelectual continuará.
Yours faithfully,
Arun Sudesh Richard
