Castellani House has announced a Women’s Film Series presented by the U.S. Embassy at Castellani House to mark the celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. The four-day film series will see three selected films for the first three days, and an audience chosen film for the fourth and final day.
The collection of American films selected portray many of the issues and challenges women have faced throughout history, including the roles of women, racial and gender discrimination, violence, women in the workforce and more. Many of the films selected were written or directed by women.
Ambassador Brent Hardt was to launch the film series yesterday.
Castellani House has indicated that the films to be shown are the following:
Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999) Rated R – which was to be shown yesterday at 5:30pm
A Raisin in the Sun (2008) Not Rated – to be shown on March 14 at 6:00pm
Adam’s Rib (1949) Not Rated – to be shown on March 19 at 6:00pm
On March 21 at 6:00pm, the audience chooses one of the following: Erin Brokovich, Norma Rae, The Help or Thelma and Louise.
