Dear Editor,
There were two news items in the international press which tickled me to laughter.
One was the case of a woman who was given a ticket (Yahoo News) in one of the US states for driving 2 mph under the speed limit. The other, more importantly, informs us that black smoke emitted from the Vatican chimney signifying that no new Pope had been elected.
Now suppose we in Guyana were to adopt a speed limit whereby we charged persons for driving below the limit, who would be charged?
Next, why not erect a chimney on Parliament and whenever a bill is not passed or there is a commotion in the Assembly there would be black smoke. Boy, Parliament would look like the Old Smokey incinerator in Princes Street.
Yours faithfully,
