Kat Dahlia’s debut ‘Gangsta’ blazes onto radio

(Billboard) – Vested in Culture chairman Silvia Rhone’s latest protege, 21-year-old Kat Dahlia, is making waves online and on-air with her debut single “Gangsta” (Epic). The song’s video, shot in Miami, where the singer (of Cuban descent) was born, boasts more than 800,000 YouTube views since its March 5 release. Dahlia’s hauntingly personal composition is closing in on the Rhythmic chart, thanks in part to 41 spins on WLLD Tampa, Fla., and 39 on WKHT Knoxville, Tenn, last week, according to Nielsen BDS.
