The Demerara Volleyball Association/Kitana Travel Service’s one day volleyball tournament which was held at the National Gymnasium was halted last Sunday evening by an abrupt blackout.
The tournament had progressed to the semi-final stage before the blackout came.
The round robin tournament was dominated mainly by the four semi-final contestants Achievers, the University of Guyana Two, Lusignan Park and Hinterland.
The first semi-final match between University Of Guyana 2 and tournament favorites Achievers. The match was dominated by Achievers who eventually won by a 30-17 score. The second semi –final match will be played between Hinterland and Lusignan Park this Sunday at the same venue wit the winning team set to oppose Achievers in the final.
The competition is set to resume at 10am.
