KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC- Opener Brenton Parchment and seam bowler Krishmar Santokie are bidding for a place in Jamaica’s starting line up ahead of their clashes against the Leeward Islands at Sabina Park.
The two are back in training with the Jamaica squad after missing the team’s first set of matches in the West Indies Four-Day and Super50 tournaments.
Parchment, who played a lead role in helping Jamaica to register a record fifth straight hold on the Four-Day title, was in Australia playing league cricket.
Santokie recently returned from the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 but has been struggling to find a spot in either squad, despite being one of the best Twenty20 bowlers in the region in recent years.
“Parchment is back in the island and could be somebody we take a look at for upcoming matches,” said Coach Junior Bennett.
“The issue of Santokie, meanwhile, is something you will have to address to the chairman of selectors.”
Jamaica play the Leewards in the Super50 tomorrow before Saturday’s start of their four-day fixture.
Defending champions Jamaica are current leaders of the Super50 with maximum points after winning their opening three games, while they are second, behind Trinidad and Tobago, in the four-day format.
