A Sunday night accident on the Tain Public Road, Corentyne has claimed the life of a farmer.
Sase Narine, 50, aka Dedeo, was at the time driving HC 1965 when the accident occurred, sometime around 20:50 hrs.
According to the police, investigations revealed that Narine was driving motor car HC 1965 when it is alleged that while overtaking a line of vehicles, he lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a trench.
Reports reaching Stabroek News also revealed that whilst Narine was overtaking the line of vehicles another vehicle swerved into his path. The action caused Narine to swerve and lose control.
Narine was rushed to the Port Mourant hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post-mortem examination performed on Narine yesterday revealed that he died of asphyxia due to drowning, police said. The autopsy was performed by Pathologist Dr Vivekanand Brijmohan at the New Amsterdam hospital.
The father of two was described as a jovial, loving and caring individual.
Narine leaves to mourn his two children Sanjay and Sangeeta, his 91-year-old mother Rosy, his four siblings and other family members and friends.
