The Mayor and City Council on Monday said that it has taken a decision to suspend the sale of spots on the seawall (from the band stand to Camp St) for Easter Monday.
In a release, it said it took this decision at its statutory meeting on Monday as it is of the view that the area is unsafe.
It cited the boulders, bricks and other materials placed in sections that the council would normally allocate to vendors.
When the issue was put to a vote, the release said that seven councilors voted in favour of the suspending of receipts while six voted against.
