Roger Vyphuis was on Monday freed of the 2008 murder of a retired school teacher while his co-accused is to know his fate tomorrow.
Vyphuis and Stephen Andrews were charged with killing 70-year-old Dulcie Trim, of Buxton, East Coast Demerara on May 18, 2008.
On Monday Vyphuis walked out of court a free man after the presiding judge Justice Dawn Gregory upheld no-case submissions. Andrews subsequently led his defence, during which he called three witnesses who testified that he was at church at the time of the murder.
When the case was called yesterday, both the defence and the prosecution made their closing addresses.
Prosecutors Renita Singh and Diana Kaulesar are presenting the state’s case.
